I believe that I have waited quite patiently for almost twenty years and to this day I still wait patiently for the owl post to arrive in the morning. However, after all these years and having still yet to receive my Hogwarts letter I am coming to the conclusion that perhaps I am just a mere Muggle (a thought that does not sit well with me) and that the magic of Harry Potter only exists in the pages of books (horrifying, I know). This lack of written correspondence has greatly affected me well into adulthood. Worse still, I never even received a birthday card from either Dumbledore or Harry himself! These traumatizing events has brought me to the idea that when one (ie a princess or magical character) departs to return to their own world the magic they leave behind slowly starts to fade into memory.
If only Reindeer Post existed, in order to rejuvenate the magic of that day once more. What is Reindeer Post you may ask?! It arrives as post a couple of days after a grand event (nothing like being fashionably late) EG...
Thankyou so much for inviting me to your birthday on Sunday 4th February. I had so much fun playing games with you and your friends. It is lovely and warm here in Arendelle (though not as hot as Australia. I think even Olaf's snow flurry would melt!) Sven is lovely and clean now after his long bath and I think Anna ate all his carrots. Kristoff is out polishing his sled, again! And I think I caught him picking his nose the other day. I'm about to go get ready for a grand ball we're having tonight. It will be so much fun. I hope you had a great birthday.
I know myself I would be very happy to receive Owl Post, Reindeer Post or even mail from Santa's pesky elves once in a while. As such I'll just keep waiting.
Monster High is a hit with young girls. We LOVE their message – Be Yourself. Be Unique. Be a Monster! Here are some party games that you could play at your Monster High Party. Here are some DIY tips for a Monster High Bash
Monster High Dance Off
Play the monster high theme song and let all the girls show off their awesome mad monster dance moves, but when the music stops everyone must freeze. Any player caught moving is out until the next round. Keep playing until only one dancer remains. She is crowned Queen of the Monster Ball.
Fierce Fashion Monster High Funk Parade
Let the guests show off their design skills in a funky and fabulous Monster High Fashion Show. To play divide the players into teams and provide each team some aluminium foil, black garbage bin bags, sticky tape, scissors and paper towel. To play have each team choose one model for their team. The other players are the fashion designers. Allow each team 10-15 minutes to complete their outfits. After the design time is up – fashion show begins! The models walk down the “runway” (anywhere will do) and show off their stuff. If you want you can add a competitive element to this game by judging the outfits on style, creativity etc…
Monster High Makeovers
This requires a bit of skill – why not enlist some expert Face Painters to do the job? Coloured hair extensions, face paint, nail polish and of course some glitter hairspray work really well
Monster High Trivia
Monster Celebrity Head
This is so easy and is great as an arrival warming up game. Write on Envelope labels the names of the Monster High Characters. Each girl gets a sticker that they place on the forehead and they may ask questions and receive a YES or NO answer. If they get a NO, they next player asks a question to determine which Monster High Character they are. Character names include: Ghoulia Yelps, Cleo De Nile, Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, Lagoona Blue, Gigi Grant, Elissabat, Gil, Clawdia Wolf, Avea Trotter, Amanita Nightshade, Abbey Bominable, Bonita Femur, Catrine DeMew, Catty Noir, Heath Burns, Invisi Billy, Madison Fear, Marisol Coxi, Potter Geiss, Purrsephone and Meowlody, River Styxx and so many more
Fear Squad Try Outs
Get your pom poms ready, it’s time to try out for the fear squad. Everyone know of the fear squad What Cleo De Nile , the Fear Squad Captain, goes! In this party game players take turns playing Cleo and making up cheer moves. The other players must see who can duplicate the move. This could also be played in a Simon says adaption. Where players must do as Cleo says when she starts her commands with “Cleo Says”
Werewolf Howl competition – cover your ears in need!
What’s the Time Mister Werewolf?
“Werewolf” must stand on the far end of the room and all other kids should be lined up on the other end. Players then ask Mr. Werewolf "What time it is Mr. Werewolf" and he or she answers "It's (any number he or she want's) o'clock". If he or she says its 7 o'clock the kids need to take 7 steps closer to Mr. Werewolf. They kids keep on repeating the question and get closer.
When asked the question Mr. Werewolf can at any given time decide to answer "It's lunch time" and when that happens he or she starts chasing other kids in order to catch one and kids need to run behind the start line (their end of the room) in order to be safe. If Mr. Werewolf manages to catch someone then that kid becomes Mr. Werewolf, if not the same kid is Mr. Werewolf again.
Cleo De Nile Mummy Wrap
With Toilet Paper or actual bandages, have players wrap each other into Mummies. This would be a great exhibition game where the birthday girl chooses 3 pairs to complete this task.
Walk Like an Egyptian
Great for a dance song adaption
