DIY Bob The Builder Construction Party
DIY Bob The Builder Construction Party
Can we party? Yes we can! Bob the Builder parties are a popular theme choice for the younger age birthday (2 - 4 years). Here is our Blueprint for an awesome Bob the Builder Construction party.
Upon arrival have Wendy hand to each guest, from her work clipboard, a colouring activity sheet. on the Bob the Builder official site, you can find the best Bob the Builder printables. If you have access to moving boxes/recycled boxes tubes, these are also great to have on hand for the children to construct using masking tape, poster paint and crayons.
Once all of your young guests have arrived, welcome them to your Bob the Builder party! Here is an outline of Bob the Builder party games that can be played and enjoyed by all.
Bob Says - this is played like Simon Says, with a Bob the Builder twist. Remember that on a construction site, you must learn to follow the foreman's orders.
Nail a hammer
Climb a ladder
Dig a hole in the ground
Mix the concrete with the sand like Tumbler
Saw the timber
Moving a heavy load
Paint the walls
Drive the tractor
Musical Bricks
Everyone loves a game of musical chairs, why not musical bricks? We use the yellow car wash sponges that you can buy cheaply from Kmart. Ensure you have enough bricks for each child. Start the music http://youtu.be/dB2GPTvxGT0 Mambo 5 song, and have the children dance around the bricks. When the music stops, each child must find and sit on a brick. Remove one brick each round with the winner being the last child with a brick. Give reward stickers to each child when they are eliminated and have them help you give spot prizes for choosing the best dancers.
Rock Toss Bob the Builder needs to move alot of rocks and boulders on worksites. Test the children's skill at throwing rocks on site. Set up two buckets and have children throw bean bags or "rocks" made from alfoil, one at a time. It is an accuracy throw game to determine who can throw as many "rocks" into the dumpster.

(You now hide the Pass the Parcel Treasure Bag which the children find. This is a great opportunity to transition straight into playing your next p[arty game - Pass the Hard Hat)
Pass the Hard Hat
We play an abridged version of pass the parcel with Pass the Hard Hat. There is a treasure bag in the middle full of plastic tool toys and novelty toys. You seat the children in a circle around the treasure bag, pass the hard hat around the circle and start the music. When the music stops, the child holding the hard hat has a turn of choosing a treasure bag prize. The hat passes around the circle until all children have received a prize.
Sand Pit Dig
Have the children use tonka trucks, spades, buckets to find hidden buried "treasure". We use plastic gold bullions as the treasure
Bob The Builder Dance
My son James, loved this song when he was young. Big Fish, little fish http://youtu.be/SD1ENnVnMXM Teach the children the dance and hand movements - it's a scream!
Bob, Bob, The Builder
Duck, duck goose is a traditional game known to all. in this game, kids sit down in a circle facing each other. One person is "it" and walks around the circle. As they walk around, they tap people's heads and say "Bob" or "the builder". Once someone is the goose they get up and try to chase "it" around the circle. The goal is to tap that person before they are able sit down in the goose's spot. If the goose is not able to do this, they become "it" for the next round and play continues. If they do tap the "it" person, the person tagged has to sit in the centre of the circle. Then the goose becomes it for the next round. The person in the middle can't leave until another person is tagged and they are replaced.
Encore Kids Parties are able to tailor design your very own Design Your Own Party with a Bob the Builder twist as detailed above.
