Joe Meldrum is currently studying the Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. However, he has been involved in vocal, theatre and dance performances since the age of five. Originally from Adelaide, Joe has trained under the tuition of Carolyn Ferrie, Rossanne Hosking, Carolyn Obst, “The Helen O’Grady Dramatic School” and “The Mighty Good Talent School” as a member of the ‘Young Talent Team’. Moreover, his training in Contemporary Dance saw him study at many of New York’s prestigious dance schools, such as; The Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, The Alvin Ailey Extension, Steps On Broadway, The Merce Cunningham Studios, Perdidance Capezio Center and Broadway Dance Center.
Along with performing as a soloist in Tokyo’s Disneyland, Joe has also performed together with Kate Ceberano in her concert Lady Marmalade, Wayne Scott Kermond in Candy Man, Mark Trenwith in Be My Friend, The Idea of North, Phil Ceberano, James Morrison and Todd Mckenny – just to name a few. (He’s also played multiple lead roles in various musicals, including; Aladdin, The Wiz, Beauty and The Beast jnr., The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Into The Woods, within South Australia’s theatre circle)
Joe specialises in Superman, Prince Charming, John Smith (Pocahontas), Dance, Rock Star, Roving, Pirate, and Encore Stage Show Events. With his extensive experience in dance, Joe is a vital member of Encore's dance theme development team.
