Minecraft parties are a popular choice for a birthday party for boys aged 6yrs to 12 yrs. If you live in Perth then you are in luck with Encore's Minecraft party theme now available We tailor the activities and degree of Minecraft complexity, to suit the age of kids attending. For the younger age group of 6 - 7yrs, a popular game choice is a Redstone Scavenger hunt. Of course you need to mine the Redstone Ore to create the Redstone and we have kids use their Iron Pick Axes to complete this task. When the ore has been mined, they discover a gem inside which they then contribute to their Minecraft Team's XP. If you are hosting a DIY Minecraft party, follow this easy recipe to make your own Redstone.
Ingredients
1 and 1/2 cups of sand
1 cup of plain flour
3/4 cup of water
1/2 cup of salt
red food colouring
Recipe (makes 24 redstones)
Preheat your oven to 170 degrees. Mix all of your ingredients in a large bowl, ensuring it is mixed thoroughly. Grease muffin tins (you will need two tins). There's a new Tween trend that is popular at our tween girl parties in Perth - Hair Chalk. Girls love creating their own colourful hair with curls in a rainbow of colours

Our Hair-chalking tips
- Take a piece of chalk and run it along the strand of hair until it’s colored.
- No matter what color your hair, apply the chalk to dry hair first. If you have darker hair and the chalk isn’t showing up, then dampen the hair before applying.
- If you have blonde hair, do not wet the hair before chalking unless you want the colour to stay in longer.
- Using a curling or flat iron after chalking can help seal your hair, if needed.
- Shake or brush the chalk out of your hair before you wash it. Getting chalked hair wet could stain your hair. If you use a clarifying shampoo will remove the colour more quickly
- Protect your clothes and hands. Wear gloves and smock or towel to keep chalk from getting on you while you’re applying it. Chalk can flake off while it’s in your hair, so it’s a good idea not to wear light clothesDon’t do this near the water/beach or on a rainy day as the colour will run (on to your clothes).

Weddings are for family and friends which includes - children. But keeping the youngsters entertained during your big event can be a piece of cake with the right kids activities to keep them busy.
There is a growing trend of the Bride and Groom to offer a children’s entertainment and child minding service at your Wedding.
It’s not always easy for guests to organise babysitters while they attend your big day – so why not encourage them to bring the kids along and be totally entertained. This may include entertainment which is tailor designed by a local children's entertainment company like Encore Kids Parties or alternatively you could plan ahead and prepare activities like these:
Kids Wedding Party Packs
Kids love to have their very own small bag or box to explore at their place setting during a reception. These can keep their minds and hands busy with items such as a snack, colouring in, crayons, mini puzzle, small novelty toy and surprisingly enough - a finger puppet works really well. A colouring in activity placemat is an alternative to a party pack and can be customised to include the bride and groom's names. Encore loves to design these at an affordable starting price of $6.95 each (plus Postage)
Arts and Crafts Area
Whether your wedding is indoors or outside, it's a great idea to allow children to get up from the table and play freely in a designated area or side room. An arts and crafts area is a fabulous addition to this space. Crafts could include a card making table, colouring in, why not a Groom top hat craft or a tulle headband veil to decorate? These could be adorned with sparkling rhinestones and foam stickers. Make sure there is also play doh for the youngsters and tubs of pipe cleaners - it's amazing how simple crafts can be made from these items.
Party Games Area
This area should be supervised and can include games such as pass the parcel, dancing games, limbo, treasure hunts, board games, twister, jenga, and more.
Storytelling Corner
Why not when the night gets older, settle the kids down watching a movie or storytelling. Comfy pillows or beanbags are a great addition to this area.
Dress up - Photo booth corner
We all love to dress up and take a selfie, why not let the kids enjoy this too! Provide a backdrop, a photographer (enlist an older cousin), dress up clothes and you have lights, camera, action!
Enjoy your very special day
